What is the Syneron Emax WRA?

The Syneron Emax (Wrinkle Reduction Advanced) WRA handpiece utilizes both light and bi-polar radio frequency (RF) energies in order to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve overall skin texture. With a spot size of 12 x 8 mm, the handpiece allows treatment of wrinkles on large body areas quickly.

How does the Syneron Emax WRA Work?

Normal healthy skin has a tighter epidermis (outer skin layer) that acts as a barrier to environmental injury. In addition, a healthy, younger skin has even skin tone and smoother texture. With age, the production of skin components such as collagen (provides skin firmness) and elastin (responsible for skin elasticity and rebound) gradually declines, resulting in creases, folds, or ridges on the skin.

In order to address the age-related wrinkling of the skin, the Syneron Emax WRA combines bi-polar RF and light energies to precisely heat the deeper layers of the skin. This in turn stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. As a result, the appearance of fine wrinkles is dramatically reduced and the skin texture becomes smoother, more luminous and toned. Unlike other traditional laser treatments, the Syneron Emax WRA uses significantly less optical energy and provides contact cooling at 5 °C to ensure a high level of patient safety and comfort.
