What is Q-Switched Nd:YAG?

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser handpiece is designed for the removal of various colored tattoos and benign pigmented lesions (deep and superficial). It emits large amount of energy through high-speed pulse while preventing damage to normal skin cells, thereby increasing efficacy and patient comfort.

How does Q-Switched Nd:YAG Work?

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser handpiece works by selectively targeting the melanin within the skin. Melanin is responsible for the formation of deep and superficial pigmented lesions. By emitting a single, high-energy, high-speed pulse, Q-Switched Nd:YAG generates heat energy that destroys melanin pigment and tattoo ink particles in the area. While Q-Switched Nd:YAG’s pulse is powerful enough to destroy its target, it does not cause harm to the surface of the skin. Over time, the cells of the immune system eliminate destroyed pigments and ink particles from the body, revealing a smoother, radiant, and aesthetically pleasing skin.
