What is Cutera Xeo ProWave?

The Cutera Xeo ProWave breaks the limits of other intense pulsed light (IPL) technology for permanent hair removal. In order to achieve greater treatment efficacy, its multiple wavelength technology switches modes from Alexandrite to Diode to near Nd:YAG at very high speed. With this technology, the Cutera Xeo ProWave allows permanent removal of lighter and finer hair on both small and large body areas.

How does Cutera Xeo ProWave Work?

The Cutera Xeo ProWave uses an infrared light to selectively target the germ cell of the hair follicle. This in turn generates heat energy that causes destruction of this structure, impairing the ability of the hair follicle to grow new hair. While the treatment prevents future hair growth, it can only reduce 30% of the hairs because only those hairs in the anagen or growth phase contain mature pigment at their follicle bulb that can absorb the light energy. Therefore, additional Cutera Xeo ProWave treatments may be necessary to achieve desired cosmetic goals.

What Skin Types can Cutera Xeo ProWave Treat?

It can be safely and effectively used on unwanted hairs of patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I (pale), II (fair), III (darker white), and IV (light brown).
