What is Laser Lightsheer Duet?
Laser Lightsheer Duet is a break-through innovation in the field of hair removal. This state-of-the-art laser technology offers better cosmetic solution for removing unwanted hair in different body areas by efficiently targeting hair follicles. Laser Lightsheer Duet is virtually painless and can help achieve a smoother, radiant skin in less than 15 minutes.
How Laser Lightsheer Duet Works?
This non-invasive hair removal treatment makes use of an 805nm diode laser in order to target the dark pigment (melanin) of the patient’s hair follicle. The calibrated laser light of the Lightsheer Duet heats the hair structure up to 70ºC in order to destroy the melanin and prevent future growth. Repeated laser pulses ensure complete hair removal.
What to Expect During a Laser Lightsheer Duet Treatment?
When the pulse of light touches the patient’s skin, it is normal to feel a mild pinching sensation. For patients with low pain threshold, an anesthetic cream may be applied to the area to minimize discomforts. For most patients, the discomforts associated with the treatment are very tolerable because Lightsheer Duet has sapphire touch cooling system, which masks away pinching sensation.
Immediately after the procedure, it is normal to have mild degree of redness and swelling in the treated area. These effects are desired clinical endpoint and are caused by destruction of the melanin in the hair follicle. After 2-3 hours, redness and swelling will subside, revealing a smoother and healthier complexion. The procedure has no downtime and the patient can immediately resume work and other activities of daily living.
What are the Recommendations after a Laser Lightsheer Duet Treatment?
For best results, patients are not advised to tan their skin for at least a month after the procedure to prevent the incidence of skin discoloration. In addition, the use of any alcohol-based skin care products and exposure to chlorinated water are not recommended in order to prevent possible skin irritation. For women, the use of make-up is also not recommended as it can cause irritation to the epidermis. Your doctor will discuss with you pre- and post-treatment instructions during the consultation period for you to better understand the procedure and achieve your desired cosmetic goals.
