What is Alma Soprano ICE Diode Laser YAG?
The Alma Soprano ICE Diode Laser YAG is specifically designed for hair removal in patients with darker skin types. This state-of-the-art handpiece uses a diode laser based on Nd: YAG wavelength so that the laser energy is moderately absorbed by the melanin (pigment that gives skin color).
How does Alma Soprano ICE Diode Laser YAG Work?
In order to significantly lower the risk of burn injuries, overtreatment, and other undesired clinical outcome in patients with darker skin who are undergoing laser hair removal treatment, clinicians recommend using the Alma Soprano ICE Diode Laser YAG handpiece. Dark-skinned patients tend to have higher melanin count and this causes their skin to absorb more laser energy during traditional laser treatments, thereby resulting in burns and skin injury. With the Alma Soprano ICE Diode Laser YAG handpiece, this can be prevented since the device gradually heats the skin until the required energy is delivered to the hair follicle. This highly controlled heat impairs the ability of the hair follicle to regrow hair. Over time, the treated area becomes smoother and completely free from unwanted hair.
