XERF is a Cynosure Lutronic radiofrequency platform that pairs two RF frequencies, 2 MHz and 6.78 MHz, in a single non-invasive monopolar system. Energy is delivered to the skin through the tip of the handpiece, and a return pad disperses it, as with other monopolar RF devices. Operators choose one of three treatment depths (Shallow, Middle and Deep) and one of ten intensity levels from the touchscreen.
Cynosure Lutronic markets XERF for what it calls Structural Skin Tightening. It pairs the RF output with cryogen-based surface cooling, which the manufacturer calls Advanced Integrated Cryogen Delivery, and with real-time skin impedance monitoring that it calls Accurate Impedance Feedback.
